As an attorney, I am used to working in a results-driven environment.  Clients don’t hire an attorney just for the purpose of giving them a bunch of empty talk.  They expect that attorney to help them with their problems, and they typically will evaluate that attorney’s work on the basis of results.  I would expect the citizens of Wooster to judge their elected officials on that same basis.  I believe that I can produce results if elected Mayor.

A good example of this would be the Larwill Street Trailer Park reclamation project of several years ago.  The Larwill Street Trailer Park was in a state of crisis, which was only getting worse.  The park owners had essentially walked away from the operation of the park due to their advancing age and related health issues.  The waterlines in the park were failing, and as a result, whenever the water supply was turned on huge amounts of water were leaking out of the water system.  The resulting water bills ran into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and there was no means of either paying those bills or making the repairs necessary to address the problem.  The only stopgap solution would be to completely shut off the water supply, but that would adversely impact those residents still living there.  The only solution was to have a court-appointed Receiver take over the management of the trailer park.  Bret Defibaugh agreed to take on that task, and I agreed to represent him throughout the proceedings.  Both of us were serving as volunteers and received no compensation for our services.  With the help of the City administration and a lot of volunteers from throughout the community, the remaining residents were able to find new homes, the mobile homes in the park were scrapped out, years of accumulation of trash and debris were removed, and the park land was reclaimed and reseeded.  Today that land is back in private hands, and there has already been one new home constructed on the site with hope of more to come.
